This photograph, is of Eyam Fire Brigade, practising at the bottom of Farnsley Lane, in Middleton Dale near Eyam. This is taken at the Housley end of Tideswell Lane, near Foolow. (Additional information very kindly supplied by Mark Noble).

The photographer's original caption for this view reads: 'Ready. "Firemen" from Farm Labourers. Snap in Derbyshire during Practice Exercises.' The image was passed by the wartime Press & Censorship Bureau on 29 March 1943.

The fire engine is lettered 'PEAK DISTRICT' and appears to carry the registration C 6621, making it quite an elderly machine by this date - this registration was issued by Yorkshire West Riding County Council sometime between 1904 and 1912.
